Printing a Dough Thickness Guide for Homemade Dog Biscuits

Not every job that comes through our WhatsApp is a prototype or a spare part. Sometimes it's a home baker trying to solve a very specific, very practical problem: how do you get a batch of dog biscuits to bake evenly, every time?
The problem with rolling by eye
Rolling dough by hand is easy to get roughly right and hard to get exactly right. Roll it a little thinner in one corner than another, and you get biscuits that finish baking at different times — some done, some still soft, some edging toward burnt. For a client baking biscuits for their dog in batches, that inconsistency was the whole problem worth solving.

A frame, not a cutter
The fix wasn't a fancier cookie cutter — it was a guide. We printed a square frame sized to match their baking mat, with a set wall height that the rolling pin rides along on both sides. Press the dough ball into the middle, roll from edge to edge, and the frame stops the pin at exactly the same thickness across the whole sheet. No thin spots, no thick spots — just one even slab, ready to cut.

Consistency you can taste
With the dough rolled to a uniform thickness, every bone-shaped biscuit cut from that sheet bakes at the same rate. It's a small print — just a square outline — but it turns "roll until it looks about right" into a repeatable, measurable step. That's the kind of problem we like: not glamorous, just genuinely useful.
